"October 1837... We are carried by destiny along our life's course, looking as grave and knowing as little as the infant who is carried in his wicker coach through the street."
(Ralph Waldo Emerson)
My sister, Lynne, told me she saw a documentary on the History Channel about women's right to vote ... that the woman at the conference had said that it took George Washington seven days to get enough men to sign the petition to be free from England. It took 77 years for women to get the right to vote. I wonder how long it will take for children to be relieved of the bondage of sexual slavery, indentured servitude, and other forms of abuse.
